Pat Cranor is a California native, now residing in San Diego.
For several years Pat lived in Japan, where he developed and refined his use of watercolors.
Later, when his first son was born, he painted a series of animals for the baby's nursery. He'd heard that a
baby's well-being was bolstered by bright colors and repeated images, so he applied this knowledge to his
own work, and, in consequent paintings, he began creating a single image and then repeating it.
Today, Pat is a confirmed watercolorist whose work exemplifies not only his love of animals (as well
as a sly sense of humor) but also typifies his acute sense of detail and composition.
Luckily for us, his work translates perfectly into the creation of needlepoint.
